Treatment for Lung Cancer

The course of treatment will depend on the stage of the cancer, general health and personal choice.

Decisions regarding treatment will be made after consultation with one or more treating specialists, including respiratory physicians, cardiothoracic surgeons, radiation oncologists, cancer care nurses and/ or palliative care specialists. Because of the many combinations of management available, a registry was felt to be an important and necessary tool to monitor whether care was being provided in accordance with recommendations and clinical practice guidelines.

For those wishing to learn more about lung cancer treatment, the following resource is available from The Cancer Council of Victoria: Lung Cancer: For people with cancer, their family and friends.
